Marlena Käthe and GINA ÉTÉ are two idiosyncratic musicians from Berlin and Zurich who share a past in Cologne. Now they are touring together while even sharing a string trio.

Marlena Käthe spins beguiling dark folk with mystical melodies, lyrics and booming bass. Raised in Berlin as the daughter of a theatre family, she spent her childhood touring Europe. Between school and travelling, she started writing and making music. She captures everything in her lyrics: excesses, fears, losses. The trained viola player sings in German, Swiss German, English, French, sometimes acoustically, sometimes electronically, alone and with her band, sometimes rhythmically intricate, sometimes jazzy, complexly arranged, but still going straight to the heart, settling in the head and ears.
